Ft 2000 Upgrade Software ((LINK))
The software works local (CAT control over COM Port), as Remote Base Server or as Remote Client. When running as Remote Base Server, an unlimited number of users can connect to one server at the same time sharing one radio. The audio and all radio commands are broadcasted to the connected users.
Ft 2000 Upgrade Software
FTDXRC was first published in 2008 as FT2000RC supporting only the FT-2000 when this transceiver was very popular. The original transceiver panel layout was adopted but some extra features were added for an improved DX (split) operation, better and more ergonomic control of the settings and knob positions. Track bars (sliders) are used to be able to quicker set and watch all positions. The FT-950 and FT DX 5000 were added later, were optimzed and the software is now available as a 64-bit application.
The FT-2000 and FT-2000D are the 2nd Generation in the proud lineage of the FTdx9000 Series! Featuring extensive DSP filtering, 100 & 200 Watts of power output respectively, and a host of outstanding ergonomic and performance features, the FT-2000 and FT-2000D are destined to be the centerpiece of your HF/50 MHz station!
I read about every new radio in my price range. The FT-2000 was actually more than I could afford, at Canadian retail prices (total cost to my door, nearly $2,900 CDN). But after years of salivating over FT-1000MPs andMKVs, the new FT-2000 was the radio I wanted.
One of the really great features of the FT-2000 is the Contour control, which peaks a signal in the passband. The PEP firmware update adds automatic contour peaking while keeping the capability for manual peaking using the Contour knob. NOTE: these Contour level and width menu items are 92 and 93 after the v.142 firmware update.
I used the money I saved to buy a Heil Pro Set Plus, Heil FS-2 dual footswitch, the AD-1Y Yaesu mic cable adapter, a second soundcard for SO2R, a four-port serial card for the FT-2000 and FT-920 FSK and CW lines, and cabling for it all.
Beside the basic transceiver CAT and WinKey CW interface the software can be configured to act as remote client or remote base server. The transceiver then can be fully controlled over an Internet connection. Up to eight users (clients) can be connected to the same FT2000RC Remote Base Server at the same time and share one transceiver. Any command received from the radio or WinKey is immediately broadcasted to all connected clients.
- h) Digital noise reduction effectiveness, 16 choices by rotating the DNR front panel knob, needs to be tested further and it is related to the type of noise present in band (It seems you regulate the time of algoritme response more than the level of it). Choose the one let show up best the wanted signal and lower back ground noise. Remember to turn DNR knob slowly and at each step wait several seconds, wait until you clearly ear the noise reduction effect. It works. So the time action is different but when ready the attenuation of band noise for each settings is almost equal and around a pretty good 20 dB of attenuation (it seems to me that DNR has improved a bit with latest firmare upgrades). CLICK HERE FOR DNR AUDIO SPECTRAL TEST VIEW- i) Front panel Variable Manual Notch is very effective and acts at IF so the RX re-gains its sensitivity when notching the offending signal (S Meter goes back) and you should use it first, second choice use the autonotch DNF (per Yaesu manual page 59), S-Meter is unaffected so AGC, anyway the notch is noticeable in the audio. However my tests showed that autonotch DNF is not a multiple beat canceller and in presence of two signals it does not work and distorsion shows up.Autonotch DNF is very effective to notch out a single tone offending signal present in the passband.CLICK HERE FOR DNF AUDIO SPECTRAL TEST VIEWWhat next? I will try CW mode more but untill now I'm very happy, and the main RX is delivering a very natural sounding audio and clean signals even if they are of very low intensity at the antenna. I have not tryied any digital modes or CAT yet.5. Further experience with this new radio:Now the CQWWDX CW week-end has passed and I had the time to operate just about 5 hours per night on 40 meters band where I use folded dipole type of antenna called Mor-Gain, which is longer than half wave lenght on that band and receives well. The background band noise during night was very low and I really could appreciate how confortable, pleasant and enjoyable was listening the crowded 40 meters band with my FT-2000 together with Yaesu stereo headphone YH77STA.I used all the time the "stereo feature" with the Main RX and Sub RX both on and the two audio output one to the right ear the other to the left ear of my stereo headphone with audio balanced for each ear with the separate audio level front panel knobs. I could fight very well nearby QRM most of the time with theWidth control from 500 Hz BW down to 300 or 200 Hz BW and in some situations moving slightly the Shift control with success. I tested also the CW memories without any problem, as per manual. What say? It was a pity I had to switch off the rig to go to sleep.
By now my FT-2000 on air impression after the highly competitive SSB and CW CQWW Contest week-ends, chasing DX and Expeditions and regular QSOs is positive and the RIG revealed to be friendly user defined, easily configurable to achieve the edge in each different situations of propagation noise and QRM. Very good ergonomics and with a very gentle RX to my sensitive ears after already 26 years of radio experience (I started the hobby at age of 16 tnx to my father Romano I4FAF). Never used the RX preamplifier during contest week-ends, and also for normal DX activity (not tested yet 6meters), the low noise RX back ground and sensitivity is really pleasant. I' m mostly well satisfied by this rig.

Many friends use it for quick setting of some parameters or to print out the menu list. Someone else use it only when need to perform a firmware upgrade on the rig, to save and reload the settings. Someone else is using it as a cat rig controller.
No other requirement, just start Win7 and install MC, connect the cat cable to the ft2k and start using it. That's it. No need to install additional dot net framework, service pack, updates or any other software...
The FT-2000/4 chip integrates four new generation high-performance FTC663 processor cores independently developed by Phytium. It adopts the out-of-order four-transmission superscalar pipeline and is compatible with the 64-bit ARMV8 instruction set. It supports the ARM64 and ARM32 execution modes, single-precision and double-precision floating-point operation instructions, ASIMD processing instructions and hardware virtualization. The FT-2000/4 enhances chip security at the hardware level, supports the processor PSPA independently defined by Phytium and meets the requirements for performance, security and credibility in more complex application scenarios. All safety-related modules of FT-2000/4 are independently designed by Phytium. The FT-2000/4 is the first domestic CPU to support the trusted computing 3.0 standard at CPU level. The product is suitable for building desktop terminals, portable terminals, lightweight servers and embedded low-power products with higher performance, energy consumption ratio and security requirements and supports commercial and industrial classifications.
We offer a large range of interfaces to ensure maximum compatibility with modern and older PCs and digimode software. You can also choose to use your PCs internal sound card to generate/decode your Digimode signals or to use an external sound card interface to free up your PCs sound card for normal use. We use icons shown below to guide you to the best choice for your equipment setup.
